Numerous special transport services for the EURO 2024 have been set up to enable you to get to the games as fast and easily as possible. There is also an additional train line (EM-RE24) connecting all of the host cities in NRW.

The additional train line will operate from 14 June to 14 July 2024 and stop at these stations: Köln Hbf (central railway station), Köln Messe/Deutz, Düsseldorf Hbf, Duisburg Hbf, Oberhausen Hbf, Essen-Altenessen, Gelsenkirchen Hbf, Wanne-Eickel Hbf, Herne, Castrop-Rauxel Hbf, Dortmund-Mengede, Dortmund Hbf. Your ticket through NRW

With your ticket for the EURO 2024 matches, you can activate a free 36-hour ticket for local public transport via the Fan Pass in the EURO 2024 app: From 6 a.m. on match day until 6 p.m. on the day after the match, this fan ticket is valid as a ticket in the Transportation Association Verkehrsverbund Rhein-Ruhr (VRR) and Verkehrsverbund Rhein-Sieg (VRS). Please note: Your ticket for the stadium is NOT valid as a public transport ticket, you can only get this via the official UEFA app.

If you wish to travel through NRW outside of these times, you can either use eezy.nrw, an “NRW-Tarif” ticket or the Deutschlandticket – regardless of whether you are getting around by bus, tram, urban and underground trains or on local passenger trains (S-Bahn, Regionalbahn, Regionalexpress). The tickets are not valid on ICE and IC/EC trains. As a general rule: Children under 6 years of age travel for free; children aged 6 up to and including 14 years pay half price.

Travel safely at all times

We want you to enjoy your time in NRW during the tournament without any worries – that’s why we take care of everything to get you to the games and fan zones safely and conveniently.

The security teams NRW, who can be identified by their yellow jackets, will be out and about on and around local public transport for you: 60 security forces, split into 15 teams of four, will support the federal police: With the addition of up to 3,000 customer service staff as well as some 450 volunteers, who have undergone training specifically for EURO 2024.

An added bonus when it comes to your safety is the video surveillance technology at railway stations and in the vehicles: Cameras are already installed at most of the stations around the stadiums and on nearly all trains in NRW. Additional cameras will be set up for the tournament, for example at the Signal-Iduna-Park Station in Dortmund.
